Phil Okwedy (Wales/Nigeria) – Tales from Africa and the diaspora

Phil okwedy shares stories of freedom, hope, greed and gluttony from the African continent and the places where Africans were forcibly taken to, such as Wales and England.

Phil Okwedy is a Welsh-Nigerian storyteller who stands in the ancient tradition of oral storytelling. Okwedy tells tales that are deep and direct, playful and poignant, gleeful and grave. He tells them to entertain. He tells them to stir and awaken feelings of mutual understanding. He tells them because story is how we connect.
